Why This Need
While Colorado Springs (COS or the Springs) has a rich history with deep Christian influence and roots, it’s a quickly evolving city that's grown exponentially over the last couple of decades. With the population growth and changing cultural landscape the city has transformed from a “bedrock” of Chrsitian influence to a city in which 40% of people would call themselves “religious nones”, a percentage that is double the national average!
To say the city is ripe with opportunity for the gospel would be an understatement. God is clearly working to cultivate the city and prepare it for a move of His Spirit. Churches and parachurch organizations are working together with a common vision to love the city, serve the city and share full life in God with the Springs.
Why Faithfully Forward
We are so eager to join in this partnership as a local church community. We are a church that deeply desires to Walk in the Way of Jesus and Proclaim the Truth of Jesus, as we are Drawn Into the Life of Jesus. The prayer is that God would work through this community to draw many others into a life of walking at the pace and on the path Jesus is inviting them to. Scripture is clear that the harvest is plentiful and the workers are few, we are committed to joining the passionate workers in the Springs, not to build a kingdom for ourselves, but to participate in the work of God’s Spirit as He brings the kingdom of God to pass here on earth as it is in Heaven.
