After 16 years at a large multi-site church, over a decade of which were spent as a staff family, We were safe, known, stable, even comfortable and then we felt God beginning to stir something in our family.

Initially, this was just a feeling, a nudge, but soon, we realized this was an invitation. God was inviting our family to step out of what we knew and into something new. We got a few unsolicited job offers and with each we thought "maybe this is the thing He has for us!", but one by one it became clear these weren't the destinations God was ushering us toward.

Then came the opportunity to join some of our dearest friends in planting a church in Colorado Springs. While this family means so much to us and we'd heard the Springs was an incredible place to live, we quickly wrote this off because it just seemed too unknown, unstable and quite frankly a bit crazy.

Ready to keep on looking for what God was leading us into, He wouldn't let us pass this up and this "crazy" idea began to take root in our hearts. After hours of conversation and prayer we took a visit to the Springs and began to fall in love. We met incredible people and saw first hand the opportunities that exist for a church to impact this community for the sake of the gospel.

We returned to Illinois with a choice to make and after a few days it was clear. Accepting this invitation was going to come with challenges, known and unknown, but it would also bring with it new life for our family and a chance to share this full life with the city of Colorado Springs.

About 2 years ago, while out to dinner we asked the question “what would it take for us to be the kind of family who would say 'yes' if God asked us to drop everything and follow Him?” Admittedly, we had no idea what that would eventually lead us to and have no idea what it might lead to beyond this church plant. But God has invited us, so on we go, faithfully forward, stepping out of the boat and onto the waves, eyes locked on the One who commands them, trusting He holds our future. Thank you for joining us in this adventure, we can’t wait to see what He has in store!
